President
|
Helen
Cheung |
 |
Helen has
been active in chapter leadership ever since she joined our chapter
2 years ago, serving first as Vice President of Programs and then
as President-Elect.
Helen's goals as President reflect her belief in teamwork: to work
with the leadership team to continue the chapter's success; to reach
out to members (new and old) in order to get them more involved with
chapter activities; and to listen to our members and make sure everyone
is heard. |
President-Elect
|
David
Eicher |
 |
David has
been an member of our chapter for one and half years and has demonstrated
his commitment to the chapter and his managerial skills by resurrecting
our newsletter, the Devil Mountain Views, and by serving as its managing
editor this last year.
His vision for the chapter includes increasing attendance at our monthly
meetings every month and expanding our outreach efforts to the college
community and the wealth of potential technical writers and editors
it represents. |
Treasurer
|
Joe Humbert |
 |
Joe has
been an active volunteer with the chapter for the past four years,
serving as a Web weaver/master for those four years, Treasurer for
three years, and President this last year.
In previous incarnations as Treasurer, he helped the chapter find
ways to cut costs to attain a more balanced budget, kept accurate
account of deposits and expenses, and provided the required Society
financial reports. He is more than qualified for the position, not
only because of his chapter experience, but also because he has been
the 'chief financial officer' with a small business he and his wife
have successfully run for 27 years. |
V.P.
Arrangements
|
Jeanie Egbert |
| |
Jeanie has
been an active member of EBSTC for about 10 years, and gives full
credit to the chapter for getting her her first tech writing job.
Previously, she was the chapter Web Weaver for 5.5 years. She has
been VP of Arrangements for the last two years. Her goal for meetings
is to make sure members have a great environment in which to talk
with each other. |
V.P.
Programs
|
Ann Adams |
 |
Ann has been an active volunteer with the chapter from the first
meeting she attended last June, where she volunteered to become
Hospitality Manager.
Before coming to the Bay Area, Ann was active in the Los Angeles
chapter, serving as Membership Manager. Ann plans to include more
technical topics at our meetings, along with the tried-and-true
soft skills and trends topics. The technical programs she attends
in the Silicon Valley have given her fresh ideas for future programs
for our chapter.

Secretary
|
Kevin Evert |
 |
Kevin has been a member of STC for the past four years. He wants
to become more active and to offer his skills of organization and
note-taking to help the chapter.
Kevin has been a manager of technical writers for the past seven
years and has a true passion for educating people on things that
interest them. By keeping the members up-to-date on the happenings
of the chapter, Kevin hopes to expand his own horizons while giving
back to the group.

Nominating
Committee
|
Elaine Pendergrast |
| |
Elaine has been an EBSTC member for over 15 years and has been
actively attending Chapter meetings for the past three. Her presentation
at last June's meeting was enthusiastically received.
She values all the contacts she has made and welcomes stepping into
a leadership role by serving on the Nominating Committee. Her goal
is to better familiarize herself with all the chapter members and
encourage those with the requisite talent and enthusiasm to run
for office.
