"It's a Mystery… The Good, the Bad,
and the Ugly of Getting Published"

By Ann Parker

Program Description

"Someday I'm going to write a novel.…" How often have you thought along these lines? How does one move from wishful thinking and "someday" to the next step and NOW?

Magnifying Glass Get a clue... Come to the meeting.

A
bout our Presenter

Ann Parker, author of historical mystery SILVER LIES, holds a day job at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and has family responsibilities including kids and elderly parents.

She'll talk about her journey to getting published--from wishful thinking to the finished book--how she got started and kept going, and how she negotiated the "balancing act" of writing and life-in-general.

She'll also discuss the pluses and minuses of critique groups, the joys and sorrows of finding and losing an agent, and how SILVER LIES finally found a home with Poisoned Pen Press, a publishing house that publishes only mysteries.
