"Becoming the Solution: Not the Problem –
The Technical Communicator as a Change Leader
?"

By Lance Gelein

Program Description

To survive and thrive in today’s ever changing world you need to look “outside the box” for solutions. This may mean sacrificing a sacred process or product. Many times technical communicators are viewed as too inflexible and rigid to make this leap. In this presentation, Lance Gelein presents ideas and ways to change this perception and make you into part of the solution, not part of the problem.

“Thinking Outside the Box” topics include:

  • Developing the willingness to take new perspectives to day-to-day work
  • Being open to doing things differently
  • Focusing on the value of finding new ideas
  • Striving to create value
  • Listening to others
  • Learning to support and respect others and their ideas
  • Becoming open to new ways of seeing the world
  • Willingness to explore and act
