About our Presenter

Jeffrey Gardiner has managed technical
writers, authoring and publishing tools developers,
editors, and production staff at Sun Microsystems. He
managed the development of Read Me First: A Style
Guide for the Computer Industry and a complementary
series of best practices guides, including Writing
in the Open: Using Wikis to Create Documentation.
He has co-authored an STC India (2008) paper on "Editing
in the Open" and has taught the "Introduction
to Technical Editing" course for the University
of California at Berkeley Extension program on technical
communication.
