Six-Word Memoirs from East Bay STC Members

Line
Woman in a reflective mood

Once asked to write a full story in six words, legend has it that novelist Ernest Hemingway responded: "For Sale: baby shoes, never worn."

In our last newsletter, we put out a call for East Bay members to reflect and write their own six-word memoirs. Here are the responses. We thank them for taking the time to contribute.

  • Lower middle class Irish Catholic girl. Ann Adams

  • Writer's success measured in column inches. Gina Gotsill

  • Wrote scripts. Had hopes. Sold none. Joe Humbert

  • So many books; so little time. Patrick Lufkin

  • I am heart, soul, a writer. Viki Maki

  • Walked many paths. Still going strong. Richard Mateosian

  • Two kids, five grandsons, next generation. Joy Montgomery

  • Matured early, married late, now content. Alliene Turner
