December Meeting Tough Marketing for Tough Times!
William H. Thompson will be back with our group for a return
engagement on December 13 at the Moonrise At Quail Court Restaurant, located at 31 Quail Court, Walnut Creek.
Mr. Thompson, founder of The Thompson Group, since 1991 a Walnut Creek based consultancy for strategic marketing and customer retention, will discuss the times we are in and the marketing
approaches to take in a changed economy.
What do we do now? How do we get the job or assignments? Where are our customers going? What will make them more likely to view us
or our company as an asset? How do we think in times of war and recession?
This one-hour session will include a question and answer period, along with some proven logic for marketing one's self and one's firm during periods of change.

Technical Literacy
The East Bay STC Technical Literacy Project is becoming known over the Internet as an important
resource for educators. This project was started in 1998 to help middle and high school students from the Bay Area learn about technical writing.
Technical writing helps to strengthen analytical thinking and offers teachers and students a way to
understand language in terms of today's world. Teachers can view and download classroom-tested technical writing lessons, or request personalized assistance through the project's mini-grant program. The
project is maintained by Lenore Weiss and T. R. Girill.
For more details, or to borrow classroom material, visit the East Bay Chapter website at www.ebstc.com.
To volunteer your services, or request assistance, please contact Lenore at lpweiss@earthlink.net.
