Check here for information, links, and dates that relate to career development training seminars and degree programs. My goal is to keep our members advised of resources available here in the Bay Area or on a website.

This list should have one or more websites that you will find useful. We want to add more, so when you find an excellent resource and want to share the information with others, please send me an e-mail message. New resources will appear in this column or on the Web page for Education & Training scheduled to appear soon.

  An easily searchable database listing schools nationwide that offer degrees in technical writing.
• stc-berkeley.org/OnlineReferenceDesk/educate.shtml
  This STC Berkeley Web page provides information on technical writing classes in the Bay Area along with course descriptions and fees.
• learningtree.com
  Over 160 four- or five-day hands-on courses in technical topics ranging from C++ to FrontPage to Technical Writing.
• 106.ibm.com/developerworks/education/xmlintro/xmlintro.html
  An online course on XML developed by IBM.
• java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/index.html
  Sun Microsystems site with a series of tutorials on learning Java.
• interview.monster.com/virtualinterview/tech
  Provides information and training for job-searching skills, such as interviewing and preparing a resume.
• www.dice.com/careerlinks/index.html
  A comprehensive career resources site with a long list of sites providing services, education, and training.
