Write to Becky! We'd love to hear from you with comments, suggestions, and stories we should know about. Write to Becky Rude, Managing Editor.

Greetings from Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I just read your President's Message and was delighted with your story.

I am a member of the Kachina Chapter here in New Mexico and have attended a couple of workshops in Albuquerque held in a Computer Equipped Classroom at the University of New Mexico and hosted by the Chapter. Albuquerque is about an hour away from Santa Fe were I live. I will be attending an Adobe InDesign workshop on September 11th from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. The Member fee for the workshop is $35.00 and non-member fee is $75.00.

My transition story is that I am working on developing the skills to become
a content producer specializing in e-learning.

Give my regards to everyone and I wish you well during your year as
President. Good Luck!!

The following letter is in regard to the Internet 101 article we reprinted in our last issue. Indus won an Award of Distinguished Technical Communication this year. I asked the editor how they managed to get so many volunteers to write newsletter articles.

Hello Becky,

Thank you for the congratulations. We have a great set of volunteers spread across the major cities of India and we work as a virtual team. They manage their individual columns, which makes it a little easy to get variety into the journal. We have a separate design/layout team which takes care of HTML and PDF versions. No, we really do not give away anything to writers. All our writers feel getting published in Indus is a reward in itself!

Thanks
Viji

I wish to obtain permission to reprint your STC East Bay newsletter article (May/June 2004): "Marketing Your Non-writing Skills" in the August issues of the STC Atlanta chapter newsletter (CommLink).

While I have read, and continue to read, many articles that provide individual suggestions, I have not read articles that provide group and management suggestions for technical communicators. The group and management suggestions made the article outstanding. And, it was that message I was looking for.

Hello Becky,

I am the co-editor of STC India Chapter newsletter INDUS. I found "First Impressions: Resume Tips" by Dara Golden to be very useful. Can we get permission to reprint this article in our newsletter?

Thanks
Viji
